In the U.S., over 21 million students are enrolled in more than 4,300 colleges and universities. Today's college students are more diverse than ever before in terms of race/ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation and more. And despite significant progress over recent decades in the number of students who gain access to college, there has been little change in the proportion of students who succeed in earning their college degree, graduation rates hover 50% or lower nationally. In this high-energy keynote, Professor Terrell Strayhorn, one of the foremost authorities on student success, breaks through myths about student achievement and puts forth sense of belonging as an evidence-based strategy for ensuring student success. Come ready to learn; leave ready to act!
